Forest School a Hit with Year 5
The children in year 5 have really enjoyed working with the new Forest School tutor Mr Burbridge. Each week, the class were able to spend Wednesday afternoon learning in the outdoors using our special Forest School area and the resources stored there. Learning how to create shelters, design environmental art, help tidy the school grounds, use tools to crate their own artefacts and safely make fire using different tools and methods, the class thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Each week Mr Hull took photographs of the children’s work which were then used to by Mr Burbridge to create a scrap book that recorded the learning the children had completed.
For the rest of the year, a different class will have the opportunity to use the Forest school each half term, whilst reception class will have a single dedicated day learning in the outdoors during the Summer term.
