School Clubs at William Barnes


The William Barnes School Choir meets at lunchtimes to practice songs for a number of events and occasions through out the year.  As well as a number of concerts for parents held during the school day, the choir also perform at the Pyramid Carol concert in December and the opening of the school’s Christmas market.  In the run up to the festive season, the choir visit local care homes and sing for the residents.  At present, responsibility for the choir is shared by Mr Newman and Mrs Reid.

There are many lunchtime and afternoon clubs that your child can choose from.  These vary from term to term but include a range of sporting clubs such as

football, netball, hockey, dance, cricket, rugby, tennis, cross country running, athletics, basketball, handball, fencing, archery and lacrosse.

There are also a number of non-sporting clubs such as Homework club, reading club, mindful colouring club and craft club.

The swimming pool is also open after school during the second half of the summer term..

In KS2, it is possible for children to have an after school club every night of the week, all of which are free of charge (except basketball).
