William Barnes Primary school has a reputation for providing a rich, exciting and creative curriculum.  Children are given the opportunity to grow academically, developing the Mathematics and English skills they will need to make a good start at secondary school.  However, this is a small part of the learning opportunities they are offered.  Through the humanities, art, music, PE, dance, French and the day to day social situations they encounter, the children develop into well rounded and sensible young people by the time they reach the end of year 6.  Teachers are encouraged to develop their enthusiasms, take risks and be as inventive as they can when preparing sequences of lessons.  As a result, children develop a deep love of learning and the belief that with hard work they can achieve their potential. Please click on the links to the left to find out more about what makes the school’s curriculum so special.
