Library Visits Create links with Town
Year 6 teacher and English leader Mr Field has been very keen over the last couple of years to improve links with the library in Sturminster Newton. Each year, every class from the school is encouraged to get in touch with the library to arrange a visit. Head librarian Roseanna then creates a bespoke session for each class. For example, when year 5 recently attended she had ordered a large collection of books about Ancient Greece and created a special quiz that the children practised their research skills to answer. The class was also given the opportunity to choose a book each on the class’s library card, which they have then read in school and shared with their friends. Mr Hull would like to thank Mr Schultz for helping to walk the children up from the school.
