School Life Continues During Autumn Term
During the Autumn term of 2021, the children at William Barnes have been extremely fortunate that many aspects of school life have been continuing as normal. The children have entered Halloween poster competitions, designed Christmas cards for the town council, performed in carol concerts, attended Remembrance day services, taken part in PGL residentials and prepared nativity plays and Christmas productions. Year 4 have been particularly fortunate to be given the opportunity to learn a new instrument with our guitar teacher Mrs Ely. Each week the class have had one hour of tuition with her, which culminated with a successful concert in the hall in front of the whole school. Inspired by their year 4 tuition, children are given the opportunity in year 5 and 6 to continue having music lessons in school if they so wish with outside teachers who visit each week. At present the school is offering piano, violin and guitar tuition.
