Parent Teacher Virtual Meetings Coming Soon!!

During the Summer term this year, staff and governors have become used to meeting virtually using Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

After Easter, the school managed to set up Microsoft Teams so that different groups of staff such as teachers, teaching assistants and the admin staff could join meetings virtually from home or meet in a safe way by logging in from their classrooms.  Children in school in the Summer term will also remember Mrs Wrixon giving assemblies using Teams broadcasting from her office.

The next stage for the school is to develop this facility for families.  During the Summer term a government grant was given to the school to set up virtual communication and learning and the company Turniton who run our network were commisioned to complete the work.  Just before the end of the Summer term every child in the school had a login for Teams and a password created for them.  At the end of term, we decided not to share these with children because the work was completed by our IT company literally on the last day of term.

Unfortunately, the passwords need to be updated so that the Reception parents can use Teams and also we need to remove the year 6 accounts and set up new ones for any children who have joined us.  As soon as that is done, teachers will be in touch to let you know the time of a virtual meeting to welcome your child to their new class and to allow you to ask any questions.  To help you with this Mr Hull has created a short guide on how to set up Teams and use it for virtual meetings.  This is to be found in the letters tab on the first page of the Home page of the web site and there is a link below as well.

So for the moment there is nothing for you to do - we will be sending out usernames and passwords to all the children as soon as we have the updates.
